DG Foods Holds Inaugural Backpack Giveaway

DG Foods’ first ever Backpack Giveaway was a huge success. In July, more than 150 backpacks loaded with school supplies were delivered to our Hazlehurst and Bastrop employees—what a way to put smiles on these hardworking faces!

Backpacks and school supplies were donated also to the Hazlehurst Chamber of Commerce for their Flamingo Friday Back to School Bash, and all remaining backpacks were given to the Morehouse Community Improvement Organization Head Start Program to help preschool-age children start a successful school year off with a leg up on success. Mrs. Brown, representative of MCIO, accepted the backpacks with much appreciation.
